Gashland Baptist Church

1.   Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for  North America Missions – The Southern Baptist Convention has around 10,000 missionaries in N. America starting new churches and trying to reach different people groups in our land. Our goals is $1,800! We have received as of today $1,270! “Firmly Planted” is the theme this year with Matthew 13:3-9, 18-23 as the key passage. Ask God what He would have you give to support our SBC missionaries in North America.

2.   Ladies Craft Night – TONIGHT! Thursday, March 20 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. They will meet in the Fellowship Hall and they are making a Flower Pot Glove. Come for the fun & fellowship!

3.   Church-wide work day – Saturday, March 22 from 8:00 a.m. til around 2:00 p.m. The Long Range Planning/Decorating Team is looking for volunteers to help paint several classrooms on the second floor. We have already had a team of people at the church this week doing some prep work. We need people willing to cut-in around the walls and then to roll the walls in these classrooms. We have some supplies, but if you have paint supplies, please bring them with you. Lunch will be provided, so plan to join the fun!

4.   New Member’s Class – Praise God for all of the new families that God is bringing into our church. I will be hosting another New Member’s Class for anyone that has joined recently or if you are considering joining. This class will begin on Sunday, March 23rd at 9:30 a.m. in the Pastor’s Office. Please come and join us!

5.   Pastor David McDonald – A Pastor from Nebraska will be our guest speaker this coming Sunday. He will share a brief testimony in the morning service and then give a full presentation during the evening service. The Mission’s Team is wanting Gashland to partner with Nebraska for about 3 years as we assist them in reaching their community for Christ.

6.   Real. Simple. Evangelism Training – Sunday, March 30 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Worship Center. Ben Schatz will be leading this training and he will provide you with 5 simple ways to share your faith with those you know are lost. This training will be in place of worship, so plan to come to this entire training. I know that you won’t be disappointed.

7.   Neighborhood Blitz – Ben Schatz is putting together a neighborhood blitz for Tuesday evening, April 1 at 6:00 p.m. We are hoping to blitz 400 homes and distribute information about our Easter activities & worship. We also would like to give each home a Bible, so we could use as many of you as possible. Place this on your calendar!

8.   Postponed until fallMen’s Retreat at New Hope Retreat Center – We are still looking for men who are interested in attending a Men’s Retreat on Friday thru Sunday, April 4-6! The cost is $20 per person. Please sign-up on the office window so that Scott Zorn knows how many to prepare.

Always read your bulletin for all of the upcoming activities at Gashland. Don’t forget the 10/5/2 rules that I have been placing in the Logos for the past year and welcome all of our guests each Sunday. You can help us make a positive impression with our visitors! Additional Parking, we need some of you to park in the Kmart parking lot so that we have enough room for our visitors. Please park on the west end of the lot, down by Taco Bell.

Love in Christ,

 Pastor George McDowell
